Jim is an innovative, passionate and collaborative automotive Digital Marketing and Process Improvement professional who works with our OE and dealer clients to identify areas of opportunity for improvement, defines obstacles standing in the way of realizing the desired objectives and develops executable and scalable action plans to achieve the desired outcomes. Jim knows the retail landscape well and realizes success comes as a result of a well thought out strategy that leverages the tools and data we have at our fingertips allowing us to identify gaps in optimal performance in marketing, operations and solution optimization. After a 12 year career in automotive retail, Jim was recruited by the Half-a-Car Group in Philadelphia Pa. teaching Ford and Lincoln dealers to present lease comparisons to the retail customer as an option to traditional cash or finance transactions, leading to larger lease portfolios and business growth based on mining the lease portfolio. Shortly thereafter, he shifted gears and became a charter members of Half-a-Car’s Cyber Car and Technology Assisted Selling (TAS) Division and was quickly promoted to division Business Unit Coordinator responsible for a field team serving the Central US market area. Since the early days of ‘Cyber Car’ in late 1999, Jim has built field consulting teams that have focused on Digital Marketing and Process Improvement for Ford Motor Co, Subaru of America, Lincoln Motor Co, Nissan, Infiniti, Toyota and Lexus. Most recently, CDK Digital Consulting partners have placed 4 of the top 10 finishers in the Pied Piper Internet Lead Effectiveness Benchmarking study, an independent study measuring the quality of an automotive network’s responses back to Internet inquiries. Jim’s field teams at CDK have consistently enjoyed the benefit of low turnover and high associate satisfaction scores which means he delivers a highly motivated and engaged group of professionals who are respectful, responsible, and resourceful. His teams have become a talent pool that have been tapped to fill positions with CDK’s OE clients, dealers/groups and internally at CDK as members of his teams now hold positions in sales, account management, client loyalty and business development divisions. Jim studied theology and guitar performance at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND and was a starting free safety on their football team. He currently resides in Lake Elmo, Mn and enjoys spending time with his wife of 33 years as well as their 4 kids, 2 kid-in-laws and 4 grandchildren. Mike grew up in the car business, alongside his father, uncle and grandfather; all dealer principals of multiple franchises. After graduating from college, Mike worked his way from sales, to Sales Manager, to General Manager of one of the country’s first Saturn dealerships, eventually opening a second Saturn store. Later in his career he became a GM of a Buick GMC and a Hyundai dealership. In addition to dealership general management experience (which includes time spent attending 20-Group meetings), Mike has 12 years of experience selling digital marketing solutions to OEMs and dealer groups. Mike lives outside of Portland, Maine, with his wife, Susan, and they have two daughters living in the Boston area. Mike loves all things swimming and is a U.S. Masters Swimmer and Certified Adult Swim instructor. Please join me in welcoming Mike to CDK, and wishing him all the success in his new role.
