The Cobalt Group Taps Jim Beach as New CFO & EVP

SEATTLE — The Cobalt Group, the leading provider of retail solutions for the automotive retail market, today announced that it has named Jim Beach as its new chief financial officer and executive vice president.
"Jim Beach has successfully managed high-growth technology companies and brings deep experience in both public and private financing," said John Holt, The Cobalt Group's president and CEO. "His financial acumen and commitment to financial integrity will help strengthen Cobalt's leadership position in the automotive retail industry."
Beach, who will lead Cobalt's finance, information services, and human resources teams, brings more than twenty years of financial and operations management experience. Beach has extensive experience in executive management, business development, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate financial management, operations and information systems.
Beach joins Cobalt after serving as CFO of Seattle-based WRQ, one of the largest privately held enterprise software companies in the U.S., which was recently acquired by a consortium of private equity firms. In addition, Beach was CFO and senior vice president at DataChannel, Inc. of Bellevue, Wash., CFO and vice president of Applied Microsystems Corp. of Redmond, Wash., and CFO and vice president of Microcosm, Inc. of Hillsboro, Ore. He started his career at Deloitte and Touche, Portland, Ore., in its emerging business group.
