Ken Pfau CPLP, Director of Training & Consulting
Ken Pfau is a Certified Performance Learning Professional (CPLP) through the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD). Ken has over twenty years experience in the automotive industry. In 1995, with ten years of automotive industry field experience under his belt, Ken joined Cobalt.

Ken managed and trained Cobalt’s first sales force, growing it from a one-person operation to a forty-person team of field-based sales professionals in only four years. In 1999, Ken moved out of sales to a training role, creating sales force automation tools and training programs for Cobalt’s sales staff and dealer clients. Ken has provided extensive client consulting and training services for several automotive manufacturers and dealer groups including GM, Toyota, American Honda, VW and Lexus.

Christopher H. Spensley
Chris Spensley has a unique mixture of retail and consulting experience that allows him to yield exceptional results when supporting dealership clients. Chris began his automotive career over twenty years ago while still in college in a dealership’s detail department. Chris is an accomplished sales professional as well as seasoned sales manager.

He has a proven history of success in the automotive retail environment at all levels since beginning his consulting career over ten years ago. Chris has been an accomplished participant in four different manufacturer programs, which included in-dealership consulting, skill-building workshops, performance interventions and best practice training for the past ten years.

Under Chris’s leadership, Cobalt’s eCommerce Field Training team has successfully impacted the eCommerce sales results of more than 500 dealerships nationwide.

Per Arnevik
Per Arnevik is a Performance Improvement Consultant for Cobalt. Per began his automotive career with Cobalt in September of 1999. Before joining the Cobalt Group, Per Arnevik worked in the financial industry as an insurance agent where he demonstrated the ability to get results exceeding the company closing average by over 100%. Within two years he created his own sales agency and became one of the youngest Agents in American Income’s history to be promoted to Master General Agent.

Per has provided ongoing ecommerce performance improvement support to over 220 dealerships across the Northwest. By using a consultative approach he helps dealers focus on the key elements that drive business growth and innovative marketing ideas. Per is an accomplished facilitator in multiple OEM accredited Internet sales and management courses.

Hugh Cabello
Hugh Cabello is an eighteen-year veteran of the automotive industry. Prior to Cobalt, Hugh was a Total Quality Management educated and certified Dealer Operations Manager for Volkswagen of America and Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America. Hugh’s area of expertise is helping automotive retailers identify operational problems and redundancies in their businesses and develop new processes which increase used and pre-owned sales, market share and CSI. Hugh is a Dale Carnegie graduate and Langevin certified in both professional presentation and facilitation skills.

Hugh’s business training is focused on helping dealers maximize profitability through proper expense management and better accountability of their DMS systems, working closely with fixed operations staff to teach them how to measure, analyze and correct processes in order to maximize efficiencies and ROI and improved lead generation and management.

Richard Rikess
Rich has over seventeen years of automotive industry experience, spanning all facets of the auto industry. Certified in Advanced Instructional Techniques from Langevin Learning Services, he has worked in management, sales, marketing and eCommerce. Richard has provided extensive client consulting and training services for over half a dozen automotive manufacturers and five major dealer groups.

Richard started his career in 1987 with Automatic Data Processing (ADP). He covered major dealer groups for ADP in the Southwest including AutoNation, United Auto Group (PAG) and The Larry H. Miller organization. Prior to joining Cobalt, Richard was on the ground floor of a start up CRM organization and helped position that company as an industry leader. Richard comes from an automotive family. His father owned one of the largest Chevrolet franchises in Minnesota, Southview Chevrolet. Richard worked at the dealership until he graduated from Northwood University.
